American Living Holiday

You've seen what I chose to give this holiday season but now you can check out other blogger's gifts, too! Visit americanlivingholiday.com to see everyone's picks for the holiday.

Modcloth Gift Guide

1/2/3/4/5/6

Just a few things for the loved ones in my life this holiday season from ModCloth. (You better believe I was on this list as well.)

(Disclaimer to my family and friends: this is merely a suggestion, I'm not making any promises with this guide. AKA don't get your hopes up.)

American Living Holiday

This holiday season, I am partnering with JCPenney on their American Living holiday campaign. I was invited to choose a gift for a loved one from the collection. Last week I shared with you the gift I gave to my dad from American Living but this week I thought that I'd share this cute video since I can't give you all cute sweaters. One day you guys -- we can all go shopping and I'll say "sweaters on the house!" Till then, cute video from JCP will have to do.

Payless Style Event

It's rainy and cold here and the chance of me getting in a cute outfit today are slim. In fact, I am currently dressed like Juno, so outfit pictures might not happen today. Since today is less than glamourous, I thought I'd share some photos from last week when I jumped over to New York to attend the Payless Style Event with a few other bloggers. And by share some that just means just get ready for what will feel like a scrapbook from summer camp by a 7th grader.

Because Payless works with designers, we got to meet a few of them as well as see the Payless Design studio. The first night we met Christian Siriano and I realized in the first 5 minutes that I am not to speak to celebrities, so I simply smiled and took creepy instagram photos of him.

The next day we headed to Lela Rose's house where she made muffins for us and then she took us into her closet. In that order.

Then we headed to the Payless Design studio to swap clothes and style each other up with Patricia Field, former stylist for Sex and The City. Which if you think about it, I'm only 1 degree away from Carrie Bradshaw now.

(Thanks to Andrea for the outfit photo.)

Thank you to Payless for the event, to Stumptown for having the most delicious coffee in the world and to the airlines for showing 'Crazy Stupid Love' on the plane. Ok. I'm done.

American Living: Twelve Days of Giving

Every holiday season, I start to cave in. I love the holiday decorations, the Christmas music playing in every store, parties with friends and family. In other words, I start to get mushy on people and before you know I'm giving out unsolicited, lingering hugs. More than anything though, I begin to feel grateful for the people around me. So I love buying Christmas gifts for others -- it's the best way of showing how thankful I am for someone in my life.

When JC Penney's contacted me to participate in the 12 Days of Giving campaign with American Living. Their one request? Find someone and give a gift to them on behalf of American Living. Done. As I flipped through items on American Living, I stumbled upon this sweater and knew immediately who it was for.

This sweater is for my father who has not only helped me tremendously this year but has overcome a lot of obstacles over the last few years. It's one thing to look up to your dad when you are 8 years old and you only know him as your dad -- who takes you to school to every morning, fixes your flat tires, tells you he is proud of you after a basketball game that you probably lost for your team. But it's another as a grown up to look up to my dad as person and have even more love and respect for him. (Plus this is a really hip sweater and he needs a hip sweater in his closet.)

Thank you to American Living for the generous offer. It's a good reminder that it is good to give.

Wish List

Thirteen outfits more and my self-imposed shopping ban will be lifted. Then I will go (mildly) wild on things that I really need like more jewelry. But if I wait a few more days, maybe just maybe, someone will give me everything on my wish list. Do you hear me husband? This is your first and last hint.

All items shown are from Linkel Designs

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: Accessories can make or break an outfit. A statement necklace? Make. A fanny pack? Break. And although useful for keeping all of your personal items near your hip, a nice messenger bag serves the exact same purpose. Think about it.

1. The Everyday Bag
2. Delicate Petals Ring
3. Tribal State in Black
4. Golden Days Stud Earrings in Turquoise
5. Riding Praise Messenger Bag

All items shown are from Le Mode Accessories

So you like Kendi Everyday?

Why don't you marry it?

Birthday-Wish-List

My birthday is on Wednesday and truth be told, I just spent most of my morning shopping online...for myself. It's cool, I didn't use real money and I put everything back like a good budget shopper. But let's pretend that I have money and/or friends with money AND these things can get here in two days... well, well, well Happy Birthday to me.

1. Sunday Brunch Sweater Wrap
2. The Willow Skirt
3. Soho Salt & Pepper Dress
4. The Fifi Skirt
5. Petal to the Metal Dress
