the long winter

It's so cold here. I think it's getting colder as the winter marches on towards spring. I'm sure it's cold wherever you are too, it's February. Of course you're cold. What am I even talking about? I'm just so ready for spring. I say let's skip the rest of February and most of March and go straight for the sunny days of April. Who's with me?
I bought this denim trench jacket at the Gap about 4 years ago. It was on sale for $20 and I snatched it right up. I totally felt like I was getting away with something, since it was so cheap. But when I got it home later, I realized why it was on sale. The collar has this awkward wire running through it so it's...bendable? Yes, that's right I said bendable. Very odd choice for a collar. Sometimes I can get it to stand, other times it looks like I have wire in my collar. But I like it, and hey it was $20. Who am I to snub something for being awkward? My husband married me and I've got awkward running through my veins.
So tomorrow is the last day of the work week for me. It's my sister's birthday this weekend so we are heading north to see my sister and her two precious boys. I can not wait. I love a good three day weekend. I also love 4 day weekends and 5 day weekends as well. I'm not picky when it comes to extended weekends.
